Time Management Techniques to Improve Your Productivity Dramatically
If you find yourself not getting as much done in the day as you would like to, you should take advantage of the time management ideas that are discussed below. There are a number of things you can do to make it easier to get more done in the day.
First of all, you want to figure out where your time is going. What amount of your time is wasted? It's a good idea to keep a time log for several days to see how much time you spend on various tasks. Log every minute, and then at the end of the day you will have a good idea of what habits you should change in order to maximize your working time.
Another of the useful time management ideas is to set aside some time when nobody is allowed to disturb you. Tell people that if your door is closed they should not bother you. They have the option to wait for you, or they can simply email you and you can respond to them once you've finished your task. This way you will have some uninterrupted time each day in which to do those important tasks that require your full concentration.
One of the most useful time management ideas is to schedule your tasks based on energy levels. If you typically are very alert and eager to get on with things in the morning, but get tired and have trouble concentrating in the afternoons, you should schedule your most important or most difficult work in the mornings, and then schedule routine or mundane work in the afternoons that doesn't take a lot of concentration.
Finally, you will maximise your productivity if you keep your work space organized and free of clutter. Just looking at a big mess tends to bring people down, and if you are not organized you will waste a lot of time looking for whatever items you might need to complete a project. If you find that your work area if often cluttered, then you will benefit from setting aside a few minutes at the end of each day to clear everything up and prepared for work the following morning.
